Before Joining St George Housing
Prospective residents are usually put in touch with St George Housing by by the local authority this is known as the referral process. The local authority makes referral based on priority need for example if you are homeless or need to leave your accommodation in an emergency. Some local authorities operate a choice based lettings service where prospective applicants can bid for available properties. Once referred a member of our team will arrange a meeting with you. Where this is not possible face to face we can arrange this online via Teams or Zoom.
Risk Assessment and affordability
Before joining St George Housing, you will have an opportunity to talk with staff about your needs and the type of support that we are able to offer you. This will help us to make sure that our services are right for you. This is known as a risk assessment. In addition, we will carry out an affordability assessment to ensure that you are not placed in hardship by accepting our property. We can review your income and check to see what benefits, if any you may be entitled to.
Housing officer
You allocated housing officer will be your main point of contact. However, you contact any member of SGH about paying your rent and repairs and they will be able to assist you.
Application Process
We currently only accept referrals from partner Local Authority Blackpool Council. If you have been referred to SGH by the Local Authority please complete the application form below.
